Hermes Equity Ownership Services (EOS) supports the Trustee in taking voting decisions for its passive equity holdings in particular. Where active managers demonstrate strong capabilities they will vote on behalf of the Trustee.

BTPS will always support the recommendations of a company's board unless it has a good reason not to do so. All voting decisions are taken in the best interests of the Scheme's beneficiaries as long term owners.
