Membership

Section C has been closed to new members from 1 April 2001.

Existing members can choose to opt out of the Scheme without leaving service (i.e. without leaving the Company) at any time, simply by giving 1 months' notice. Simply complete an opt-out form and send it to Pension Services.

However, please note that once you have opted out of the Scheme, you may not rejoin the BTPS or any other BT pension arrangement. You will also stop building up any further benefits in the BTPS and your life cover will reduce to two times your Pensionable Salary.
